About Lorna Miser

Lorna got her first sewing machine at the age of 11 from her grandmother who was a professional seamstress. Lorna’s was a prolific sewist herself throughout high school, working at a high-end fabric store and doing custom sewing and alterations professionally. She took fashion design and tailoring classes in college

Her career turned to color, design and wholesale in the knitting industry although she continued to sew as a hobby. After over 3 decades of dyeing yarn, writing knitting books and patterns and teaching classes, she set it all aside and went back to sewing for her focus.

She now prefers sewing creatively more than with commercial patterns. Upcycling and sustainability drive her sewing choices for making clothing and purses which are sold in several local stores around Sacramento.
